Light Up Your Christmas With a Drone Show

Meet the Christmas Star

The Christmas Star drone show isn’t a slideshow of shapes — it’s a Christmas story told in lights.

150 synchronised drones awaken as a single glowing star above your audience. From there, the Star begins its journey: discovering snowflakes, drifting through winter scenes, and growing stronger as Christmas unfolds.

Kids fall in love with the character. Adults get swept up in the nostalgia. By the time the Star reaches its final moment in the sky, the whole show feels like a shared celebration.

A spectacular festive drone show

Because the entire show is built around the Star’s journey, every formation has meaning.
The tree isn’t just a tree — it’s where the Star finds its place.
The snowfall isn’t a generic effect — it’s part of the world the Star explores.

That sense of storytelling makes A Christmas Star feel alive and memorable, whether you’re lighting up a town centre, launching a Christmas festival, or creating a standout moment for a corporate celebration.
It’s a festive spectacle with heart — joyful, grand, and designed to leave your guests talking long after the night is over.

FAQ's

  • For a drone light show to be performed safely, it is vital to secure the area under the drones and maintain a 50m safety buffer from the audience. The Secure Area does not have to be clear of trees, but the Show Area must be level and free of obstructions. The Christmas show requires a totally secure space of 170m x 130m.

  • Our drones are designed to fly in challenging conditions—up to 45 km/h winds and light rain, which is often enough to make guests uncomfortable outdoors.

We monitor the weather closely and will contact you a few days before the event if conditions look problematic. If we need to cancel before setting up, onsite fees are refundable. However, if weather worsens unexpectedly after setup, cancellation terms apply. For full terms, contact us to discuss your event.

  • Many venues have general bans on drones due to safety and disturbance concerns. However, we often work with venues to address these worries by clearly explaining our robust safety protocols and professional operations. This approach has enabled us to perform drone shows at locations that initially had restrictions, including sensitive heritage sites.

For instance, we successfully flew 100 drones at Scarborough Castle, an English Heritage property, by securing the necessary permissions and creating a spectacular display near a listed monument. Let’s explore what’s possible at your venue!

  • Flying drones near airports or in “No Fly Zones” requires special authorisation, but it is possible with the right procedures and safety measures. At FlightShows, we have experience securing permission to fly near active runways by coordinating with airspace users and adhering to strict safety protocols

To learn more about flying drone shows near airports, check out our blog post: Can you fly drone shows near an airport?

Rest assured, we specialise in making the seemingly impossible possible! Send us the name of your venue and we will check it out for you, completely obligation-free.
