The FlightShows journey so far

The Past

FlightShows began in 2020, born from an unexpected moment of inspiration during a light-hearted Zoom quiz after COVID-19 had wiped out the live entertainment industry. Two friends discovered their shared fascination with drone light shows and set out to create something extraordinary – this time outside of a theatre.

With roots in touring theatre and live events, we combined our technical expertise and creative vision to craft unforgettable experiences. From the outset, we focused on blending artistry with cutting-edge technology, ensuring every show delivers emotional impact and tells a story with a beginning, middle and end.

The Present

Today, FlightShows is a global leader in drone light displays, captivating audiences with innovative performances tailored to each event. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate launch, or cultural celebration, we take pride in delivering shows that leave lasting impressions.

With over 500 drones in the UK and access to thousands more worldwide, we’ve expanded our capabilities to accommodate events of all sizes. Our team brings precision, creativity, and a passion for storytelling to every project, pushing boundaries to create spectacular moments.

The future

At FlightShows, our vision is bold and limitless. We aim to redefine event entertainment by exploring new technologies and creative possibilities. Whether it’s enhancing interactive displays or synchronising with emerging trends in event production, we are committed to leading the way.

Above all, we want to make your event extraordinary—turning ideas into mesmerising realities and lighting up skies across the globe.

The Directors

George Chatburn Portrait

George Chatburn

Director

Prior to launching FlightShows, George spent many years working behind the scenes in musical theatre, including on Londons West End and on tour around the world. The sky is now George’s stage and drone light shows his cast!

George took to flying drones as a hobbyist but soon gathered a range of qualifications and is now a GVC certified remote pilot.

As our Creative Director, George’s artistic and technical knowledge will help turn your idea into a FlightShow. George is always up for a Zoom or in-person meeting where you will quickly see his passion for creating spectacles in the sky!

Director

With hundreds of hours flying drones for TV and film, Eoin wanted to take unmanned aviation to new heights and explore the future of drone technology.

Eoin holds an A2CoC and a GVC certificate as well as a current Operational Authorisation from the CAA. He also gets in and flies a Cessna 182 when not flying drone shows! His aviation knowledge enabled FlightShows to secure the first operational authorisation for swarm shows of this kind in the UK.

Teaming up with George combined the creative and technical skills required to make exciting and innovative drone shows.
