Finland’s long winter darkness can make a drone show a natural part of an evening programme.

A public event can build towards a large shared finale. A resort or destination event can use the surrounding darkness to make colour and movement feel even more dramatic. Completely bespoke, from a few hundred drones to thousands

FlightShows has access to thousands of show drones across Europe.

That gives us the freedom to match the fleet to the creative rather than forcing the idea into a fixed local drone count.

A few hundred drones can create a rich bespoke show with detailed imagery and movement. Larger fleets can increase scale and resolution where a large public audience, stadium or ambitious creative treatment benefits from them.

The number itself is not the show. We begin with what the audience should see and feel, then recommend the scale needed to achieve it.

Summer shows are possible too

Finland is not only a winter market for drone shows.

Summer shows can work beautifully too; the main difference is timing. Around midsummer, long daylight hours can push the best show window much later into the evening, particularly farther north.

We establish the darkness window during the initial consultation and recommend the show time that gives the lights the contrast they need.

Weather capability built for challenging conditions

FlightShows deliberately chose outdoor aircraft capable of operating in the kind of weather we actually encounter across Northern Europe.

Our outdoor drones can fly in winds of up to 45 km/h and in the rain.

That gives us a much wider operating window than many people expect from a drone show. Temperature, icing, visibility, gusts and ground conditions still form part of the flight-team assessment, but a wet or breezy forecast is not automatically bad news.

Planning a drone show in Finland

You do not need to understand Finnish aviation rules before speaking to us.

Send us the location and date as part of the initial enquiry. We will assess the site, airspace and event layout from the beginning and work with you and the venue on the best way to deliver the production.

Finland’s UAS requirements are administered by Traficom, with geographical zones, airports, heliports, restricted airspace and current aviation information forming part of the assessment for a proposed location.

FlightShows handles all of that, from the initial site and airspace assessment through to the operational documentation, permissions, notifications and relevant coordination needed for the show.
