Drone light shows in the Netherlands

A drone show gives an event the chance to do something genuinely enormous.

Across the Netherlands, FlightShows creates bespoke productions for festivals, brands, sport, public events and private celebrations, using hundreds or thousands of drones to build animated stories and reveals in the sky.

Your story, told in the sky

The technology may involve hundreds of aircraft, but the thing the audience should remember is the show.

We start with what the event is about and what you want people to feel.

From there, we develop a storyboard that can move through a series of ideas rather than simply putting unrelated pictures into the sky. One image can transform into another. Music can change the pace of the animation. Colours can move through formations. A recognisable shape can emerge gradually before changing completely on a musical cue.

And when there is one image everybody is waiting for, perhaps a logo, name, anniversary number or message, we can build the whole sequence towards it.

That is particularly powerful for launches and brand events.

Instead of putting a logo in the sky and calling it a drone show, we can make the reveal the destination of a much bigger piece of live entertainment.

A huge shared moment for public events and festivals

One of the great things about a drone show is the scale of the audience it can reach at the same time.

There is no screen at the front getting smaller as the crowd gets larger. The performance happens in the sky.

That makes drone shows particularly effective for festivals, city events, celebrations, opening and closing ceremonies and other occasions where thousands of people need one shared focal point.

The show can sit within an existing programme or become the reason everybody stays until the end.

We can synchronise the performance with a soundtrack, stage cue, presenter, countdown or other live production element, allowing the first drones to appear at exactly the moment the wider event calls for them.

Our background in theatre, international touring and major live productions matters here. We are used to thinking about the whole audience experience, not simply launching the drones and letting the event carry on around them.

A drone show should feel as though the evening has been building towards it.

Brand launches that go beyond putting a logo in the sky

Yes, we can put your logo in the sky.

But there is much more we can do with a brand than that.

The colours, products, ideas, campaign imagery and story behind a business can all become part of the animation before the final reveal.

A product might emerge from an abstract sequence. One piece of imagery can break apart and reform as another. A countdown can lead into the launch moment. A final logo or campaign line can arrive on the strongest point in the soundtrack.

The result is something made specifically for that event rather than a generic drone sequence with branding added at the end.

And because a large outdoor drone show can be visible across a substantial area, the audience for that moment can extend well beyond the people standing immediately beside a stage.

Completely personal shows for private celebrations

The same technology can be used in a completely different way for a private audience.

Our 300-drone SM60 show in Mallorca told the story of one person’s life.

Golf, sailing, swimming, travel, family references, a Spitfire and memories from earlier parties all became part of the production. Guests recognised the references as they appeared, and their laughter and applause became part of the show itself.

That is what makes a genuinely bespoke production special.

It does not need to mean the same thing to everybody in the world.

It needs to mean something to the people standing underneath the night sky watching it.

For a birthday, anniversary, wedding or major private celebration in the Netherlands, we can create that same level of personal storytelling around an entirely different life and audience.

From a few hundred drones to productions using thousands

FlightShows has access to thousands of show drones across Europe.

That gives us room to make the production as large and detailed as the event genuinely needs.

A few hundred drones can already create an impressive bespoke show with recognisable imagery, animation, text and movement. Larger fleets allow us to increase scale and resolution, create more detailed formations and develop increasingly ambitious visual sequences.

We do not start by selling you the biggest number of drones we can.

We start with what we want the audience to see.

Once we understand the creative brief, the venue and the scale of the event, we can recommend a fleet that does the idea justice.

Drone shows in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and across the Netherlands

FlightShows can create drone-show projects throughout the Netherlands.

Amsterdam, Rotterdam and other major Dutch cities offer obvious possibilities for brands, public events, festivals and major live productions, while private venues and more controlled event sites can give us completely different creative opportunities.

Waterfront locations can be particularly striking because they can provide a large open view behind the show. An urban skyline can also become part of the audience’s view without needing to become the subject of the animation itself.

You do not need to work out whether the site is suitable before contacting us.

Send us the location as part of the initial enquiry and we will assess it with you from the beginning. We will look at the airspace, audience, proposed operating area and wider event layout during that initial consultation and talk through the best way to make the show work.

If something about the original plan needs adjusting, we can work with you and the venue on the options.

The objective is to help make the show happen.

We handle the aviation side

A drone show is a piece of live entertainment, but it is also a professional aviation operation.

FlightShows handles all the aviation planning. The Netherlands operates within the European UAS framework, with ILT responsible for the relevant national requirements.

We assess the site and surrounding airspace during the initial consultation, prepare the operational documentation and manage the permissions, notifications and coordination needed for the outdoor show. We also work with the organiser and venue on the controlled operating area from the start.

You give us accurate information about the event and proposed location; we handle the aviation process from there.

Turn your Dutch event into one huge shared moment

For a festival, brand launch, sporting occasion, public celebration or private event, tell us what you want the audience to feel when they look up. We will build the show around that moment.

What does a drone show in the Netherlands cost?

Bespoke outdoor drone shows in the Netherlands start from €30,000, plus travel.

How long does a Dutch drone show take to plan?

Around two to three months is a good planning window for most bespoke Dutch productions.

Larger public events and more ambitious creative projects benefit from having longer, but shorter lead times can also be possible.

You do not need a finished brief before getting in touch.

If you have the date, proposed location and an idea of what the event is trying to achieve, that is enough for us to start.

We can assess the location during the initial consultation, talk through the possibilities and begin shaping the creative and operational plans together.
